Which material speaks to your space?

A texture, a quality of light, a way of living. Your choice begins with a feeling and takes shape after the substrate and intended use have been assessed.

Microcement

Continuity and a mineral character. MicroDimensions offers fine, medium and micro-concrete variants; medium is the one we use most often. Performance depends on the specific system, not just the name.

Answers for your project

Materials, preparation and everyday life during the work. Open only the question that matters to you.

We start from what you tell us, not verified facts. Possible causes are initial hypotheses: the specialist makes the diagnosis after the visit and necessary checks. Professional verification is required before intervention. This is not an emergency service.

Can I stay at home while work is being carried out?

Not always. It depends on the affected areas, access and available facilities. Exposure to dust and emissions must also be assessed.

Agree which rooms will be out of use and whether you may need to stay elsewhere. This website does not confirm habitability during the work.

Sources and context: EPA · Indoor air during renovation (US technical context, not Spanish regulations) (opens in another tab)

Can you work room by room?

It may be possible, but not every job allows independent phases. Continuous flooring, access routes and coordination with other trades may affect this.

Agree the sequence, access routes and possible effects on duration and cost. Phased work is not assumed to be included.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Will there be dust and noise?

Preparation can generate dust and noise. Containment and ventilation aim to limit dispersal; they cannot justify promising work without disruption.

Clarify disruptive tasks, working hours and separation from occupied areas.

Sources and context: EPA · Indoor air during renovation (US technical context, not Spanish regulations) (opens in another tab)

If the smell has gone, can I sleep in the room?

Smell does not establish whether a room can be occupied. Ventilation and product conditions of use matter, as well as apparent dryness.

Return to use must be confirmed for the applied system; we do not give a universal number of hours.

Sources and context: EPA · Indoor air during renovation (US technical context, not Spanish regulations) (opens in another tab)

What if there are children, pets or someone particularly sensitive?

These circumstances require an assessment of separation between areas and exposure to dust or emissions.

Mention that there are special needs without entering medical details here. This information does not provide remote health assurances.

Sources and context: EPA · Indoor air during renovation (US technical context, not Spanish regulations) (opens in another tab)

Will I be able to use the bathroom, shower or kitchen?

It depends on the work and return-to-service times. A bathroom with newly coated flooring may be inaccessible even if the sanitary fittings are not being replaced.

If it is the only bathroom, mention this before scheduling. Agree what will be unavailable and during which phases, without assuming an alternative exists.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Do I have to remove the furniture? Who moves it?

There is no single answer: some items can remain protected, while others prevent access to the substrate or safe working. Size, weight and the intended finish affect the situation.

The quotation must specify what is removed or protected, who does it and any moving or storage costs. These are not assumed to be included.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

What about clothes, curtains, rugs and bedding?

They can complicate protection and access. It is not necessary to assume the whole home must be emptied; what remains in the work area needs to be defined.

Before work starts, agree which textiles are removed or protected and who handles curtains, rails, clothes and rugs.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

What about pictures, lights, electronics and delicate items?

Removal, protection and dismantling are different tasks. A picture, a wired light fitting and anchored furniture require different arrangements.

Identify affected items and who is responsible for them. Dismantling that requires another trade is not automatically included.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Do I have to be at home? How are keys and working hours arranged?

Client presence, key custody and building access require specific agreement. Lifts, shared areas and building community restrictions also matter.

Agree a contact person, authorised access, working hours and how changes will be communicated. Do not enter access codes in this public enquiry tool.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

How many days will my project take?

A figure would not be honest without knowing the area, substrate condition, finish, occupancy and access. Preparation and waiting between stages can matter as much as application.

The proposal should distinguish working days, technical waiting periods and an estimated return-to-use date. An estimate is not a guaranteed deadline.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Do finished, dry and ready for use mean the same thing?

They should not be confused. Completing application does not, by itself, establish that the finish can withstand water, cleaning, furniture or normal traffic.

Specific times must come from the system’s technical documentation and be confirmed for site conditions, not from a generic figure online.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

What happens if previously hidden damage appears?

A concealed area or an earlier layer can change the scope initially assessed. This library cannot anticipate every finding.

Before accepting additional work, clarify the reason, proposed work and effects on price and schedule. It is not presented as a cost already included.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Are protective coverings removed and everything put back?

Cleaning the work area, deep-cleaning the home and putting furniture back are different scopes of work. They should not be treated as equivalent.

Agree what handover includes, who replaces items and when the finish allows this. Aftercare information should also be clear.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Can microcement be applied to any surface?

We cannot confirm feasibility solely from the appearance of a photograph. The substrate and specific system need assessment for compatibility, condition and conditions of use.

This answer does not replace inspection or the technical data sheet. An unsuitable surface can prevent the proposed application.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

How do fine, medium and micro-concrete differ in MicroDimensions?

These are the three variants we work with; medium is the most common at Dimensions. The choice allows different expressions of texture.

We do not assign greater strength based only on a variant’s name or grain. Performance, use and maintenance must be checked for the specific system and on a sample.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Does microcement alone provide waterproofing?

A decorative finish does not, by itself, establish the watertightness of the complete assembly. In areas exposed to water, the substrate, junctions and construction solution also matter.

Feasibility for a shower or wet area requires professional verification of the complete system. The source provides a general framework, not certification of our products.

Does lime eliminate damp?

The vapour permeability of certain coatings does not automatically eliminate water ingress or establish its origin. Formulation and substrate affect performance.

What is happening must first be verified. Lime is not presented here as a universal treatment for damp.

Are lime paint, limewash and stucco the same?

These terms are not interchangeable. Limewash is a lime-based paint finish; renders and stuccoes have different compositions and application processes. Compatibility is especially important on traditional substrates.

A reference appearance is not enough to specify a product. Texture, substrate and protection require confirmation in the proposal.

Will the colour look exactly as it does on screen?

Website images are indicative, not a contractual sample of the finish. Digital selection starts the conversation; it does not promise identical reproduction.

The final decision uses a physical sample, the substrate and the room’s light. Emotional names express an aesthetic intention, not a guaranteed psychological effect.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Matt, satin or emulsion paint: which do I need?

A finish name does not define all its performance characteristics. Comparing options requires the intended use and product technical information, not just the sheen.

Washability, maintenance and appearance are specified in the proposal. We do not promise that every matt or water-based paint suits every use.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Does facade paint fix cracks or water ingress?

A colour change does not establish that a defect has been resolved. Moisture protection depends on the facade solution and its critical details, not only the visible layer.

Substrate condition, junctions and the origin of the damage require professional checks before defining the scope.

Why do wooden skirting boards swell or come loose?

Wood can change dimensions as its moisture content changes. This may be relevant, but a loose skirting board does not by itself identify a leak or its source.

This is an initial hypothesis, not a diagnosis. The source explains wood behaviour; it does not confirm the cause in your case.

Sources and context: US Forest Service · Wood, moisture and dimensional changes (opens in another tab)

Can a stain tell us where damp comes from?

No. Condensation and water ingress are different situations; an image cannot confirm the path or source.

The website’s signs explorer organises initial hypotheses. A conclusion requires inspection and, where relevant, measurements by a qualified professional.

Is a crack just a paint problem?

This cannot be decided remotely or by its colour. This library does not assess a crack’s safety or prescribe how to fill it.

Its origin, development and possible construction implications must be assessed by a qualified professional. A website answer is not authorisation to carry out work.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

What needs assessing before varnishing or lacquering?

Beyond appearance, the substrate, process and application conditions matter. Varnishing can involve exposure to volatile organic compounds.

Ventilation, occupancy and return to use must be defined for the specific system. We do not claim a finish is harmless because it is water-based or has little smell.

Is an epoxy floor suitable for every garage or commercial space?

The word epoxy is not enough to establish suitability. We cannot promise traffic or chemical resistance, or an opening date, without identifying the system and use.

Assessment establishes the substrate, activity, requirements and return-to-service times from the applicable technical documentation.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Is a rough floor automatically slip-resistant?

Appearance or touch does not replace slip-resistance assessment. Applicable requirements depend on use and location within the scope of the relevant regulations.

Performance must be substantiated for the proposed solution. A classification cannot be assigned from a photograph.

Sources and context: CTE · Safety in use and slip resistance (opens in another tab)

Does fire-retardant or intumescent paint mean a fire cannot occur?

No. Fire safety requires substantiated performance within a specific solution; it cannot be inferred from a paint’s commercial name.

Specification and verification are for competent professionals according to the use and applicable regulations. This answer does not certify fire protection or fire resistance.

What information helps prepare an initial conversation?

Type of work, municipality, rooms, approximate area if known and whether the home will be occupied. It also helps to explain what must remain available, such as the only bathroom or a home-working area.

Photos can provide context through WhatsApp if you wish. An initial conversation does not replace a visit when necessary or establish a quotation on its own.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Can what I describe on the website produce a diagnosis?

No. We start from your account, not facts verified by Dimensions. Selections show initial general hypotheses; they do not establish what is happening in your home.

The specialist makes the diagnosis after the visit and necessary checks. Measurements, tests or more than one visit may be needed. The case must be verified before intervention.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

What can I describe without testing the substrate?

What you have already noticed: where it appears, since when, whether it changes and whether it coincides with rain, water use or another event. You do not need to interpret the cause.

We do not ask you to strike, scrape, dismantle or access unsafe places. You can say that you do not know something. A photograph does not replace inspection either.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

Is this form suitable for an emergency?

No. The explorer and form are not an emergency service and do not guarantee an immediate response. In a dangerous situation, do not wait for a website response.

Potentially serious signs are outside automated guidance. The appropriate professional or emergency services must deal with them, according to the situation.

Scope and organisation to be agreed for each project; not a technical prescription.

What should be clear before accepting a quotation?

The scope, price and relevant conditions must be explained clearly. Published information and offered guarantees may be enforceable even if not repeated in the contract.

Website clarifications do not remove consumer rights. A specific dispute requires legal advice.

Have you noticed something that concerns you?

We start exclusively from what you tell us. A selection or a photograph may suggest initial hypotheses, but cannot confirm a cause. The diagnosis is made by the specialist after the site visit and the necessary checks, which may include measurements, tests or more than one visit.

Before deciding on or carrying out any intervention, the case must be verified by the appropriate qualified professional. This website is not an emergency service and does not guarantee an immediate response.
